Spay / neuter
Thanks to our great vet Dan, who is not afraid of working long hours, we continue to spay / neuter as many dogs as we can. Tzuki is probably about no. #100 if not more. She seems to be a cross breeed with a terrier and was found really skinny and limping across the city center. She is very sweet with people and was really brave during the surgery. If you want to meet her, please contact us!
Thank you for your donation!
Today we have a happy ending story: this guy, who is a lovely and actually quite smart boy, managed to get lost and found on the same day (read the story here)! His family was kind enough to make a donation for our own protegees! They sure were happy to see him! Thank you again!
Lady and Minni go to Germany
Yes, we finally have the confirmation: Lady whom we have rescued from the pond about one year ago and Minnie (aka Mami Gri), who has been with us for over 2 years, have found loving homes in Germany!
Thanks to our friend Nicola from Hundezuhause, they finally have the home they deserve! Fotos coming up!
Lost and found
Actually we only found them and now we’re trying to find their owners too. Because they got lost. Here they are:
One young Wirehaired Teckel, less then a year old, found frozen in the Şelimbăr area. If you know who he belongs to, please call 0740 90 87 74 or 0730 00 44 69.
And one gorgeous Irish Setter. She’s an adult female and has been found in the Mihai Viteazu area. If you’re desperately looking for her, call 0723 46 93 45.
Later edit: happy end!!! Both dogs have been reunited with their owners!
Beaver
The vet named him like that because of his thick tail - he’s the third dog we found after being run over, during the last two months. Although he was very badly injured at his back legs and mouth, luckily he is now recovering.
Maybe because he used to belong to somebody or maybe just because of his nice nature, he still lifts his paw to greet every time somebody approaches. And he does that even if he is still not able to lift himself up or walk.
If you would like to see Beaver, adopt him, or care for animals who have had a tough time on the streets and need a warm place to recover, please contact us!
Great News!
We must have done something right because we are getting the greatest reward! We are among “the chosen ones” to take part in a “spayathon” organized by Romania Animal Rescue, which will take place in May this year. This is one of the small but determined steps towards a city without strays! Details will follow!
Rita went to Germany!
This is her first letter, sent by Nicola, her foster mom, who has done a great job finding a new family for Rita:
Hello, this is Rita!
Oh my God, that was some trip! The drivers looked exhausted. I got right out of my cage and on the sofa which is… hmmm, quite comfi! I also got a snack and free access to the mini bar! It smells really nice in the kitchen, coming from the stove. The lady with the silver camera, who is chasing me trying to take photos, has brought me some yummy stuff from over there. Yummy, I want more!
Now I am stuffed and tired, I took a leak and I am preparing for the cuddling program. Man, I’m really tired, I’m gonna go to sleep on the couch. Good night, see you tomorrow!
The dreams of the first night in a foreign country should come true…
Love, Rita
In the meanwhile Rita has been renamed to “Laika” by her new owners, and lives happily ever after at the farm, surrounded by many other human and animal friends. They say a picture is worth a thousand words:
And this is Rita back in the days when she used to hang out with Cry Baby, in Romania:
Adoptions! The more the merryer!
We have to boost just a little bit: if until now the only support regarding adoptions came from our friends in Finland, Hemlosa Hundars Vanner, our beloved dogs managed to convince also the Germans that they are extraordinary dogs and deserve a home!
Nicola Lehman from Streunerhilfe Nordgriechenland has found the first home in Germany for Rita, the black female who had stayed with us for almost 2 years.
Let us introduce you to our friends:

Dia, Kitty and Puty
Dia is one of the small dogs who has been staying with us for months, and Kitty is one of the kittens found in a dumpster, before it even had its eyes open. Kitty has been mothered by Puty, who also had her own kittens but proved to be a loving mom for Kitty too. Now they are safe and well.

Dia and Kitty, together with the Nicolau family who also have chicken, pigeons and who take care of any poor soul who needs saving.
Ema & Toto
Do you remember the “Pilot”, the dog hit by a car in November? Well, it seems that after all, that was the luckiest day in his life, because he got adopted by Ema, our foster mom, who fell in love with him after all the hard work involved by his treatment. Now he is walking and jumping again and following Ema everywhere. Thank you dr. Gheoca and dr. Liviu and thank you Ema!
